So... many... bands...
must... conserve... strength! must... not... get bogged... under!
oh no. here i am, totally bogged under. ok, here's a list, and in the coming days i will be reviewing the following:
1) spoon (quick review: spoon = audio porn)
2) okkervil river (quick review: they are angry at many people, including themselves, apparently)
3) youth group (quick review: the lead singer is not a tim booth wannabe. no really. he's so not)
4) kaiser chiefs (quick review: had the disk for a while now. suck at posting reviews. love it. sick of franz comparisons)
it's only 4. and i don't really think anyone's exactly on the edge of their collective seats in this period of time. and honestly, austin is coming up, then an awesome set on oct. 1st with the national, clap your hands say yea, and m83, which should kick some serious bootie. so i'll write about those two also.
but stay tuned for kaiser chiefs. just read an article and they definitely pass the qate test: funny, irreverant, don't take themselves seriously... perfect. unlike those buttwads in the killers. for godssake someone needs to take that little brandon flowers assponey out back and give him a firm talking to. or beat the crap out of him, one or the two. that ego needs to be deflated a couple of notches. the band's good, brandon, but not THAT good. and who are you people to sling allegations of imitating styles at bands like the bravery, mr. duran-duran-psychadelic-furs-tribute-band? seriously.
ok enough ranting.
oh and the new coldplay? *yawn* yea, don't bother. it's overblown, boring, safe, and reaching for the stadium, definitely. what we have here is a band who's believing its own hype, and it's quite depressing. not that i've ever been the hugest coldplay flag waver, but 'x&y' just leaves me really cold. heh. get it? coldplay leaves me cold? i'm hilarious.
oh and radiohead hates me, all of a sudden. i think it's because i stopped going to italy every year. they promised me a new record in spring of 2005. but what did they do? pushed it back to spring of 2006. because they hate me. i'm even wearing an old kid a shirt today to show my solidarity, and yet still, they make me suffer. i blame on jonny greenwood, personally.
